New Feature on Owler: Company Competitive Analyses

We’re excited to announce the new company Competitive Analyses section on our profiles, with comparison tables on CEOs and employees, financial data, community sentiment, and social media statistics. Search for a company or url, or click on any logo on Owler, then go to “Competitive Analyses” in the left menu.

CompAnalysesMenu

This new section compares up to 15 competitors or companies by the following breakdowns:

CEO & EMPLOYEES
• CEO Approval Ratings
• No. of Employees (estimated if private)

FINANCIALS
• Revenue (estimated if private)
• Revenue per Employee
• Funding
• Acquisitions

COMMUNITY SENTIMENT
• Likely Outcome (private) or Stock Prediction (public)

SOCIAL MEDIA STATISTICS
• Owler Followers
• Facebook Followers
• Twitter Followers

That’s the short and sweet version. Go ahead — find a company and explore for yourself!

Want an example? No problem.

First, we need a company to showcase. Picture this: a classroom of CEOs, investors, professionals, what have you, and THIS GUY gets up to volunteer his latest venture:

Yeah, we want in on that class too.

If you haven’t heard, winning the “No Brainer Investor/Company Match” category of Q2 (probably all of 2015) is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (aka Snoop Dogg/Lion), and Eaze. (Joining Snoop’s Casa Verde Capital in this round are DCM Ventures, Fresh VC, and 500 Startups.) Eaze is an on-demand, medical marijuana service; or in Silicon Valley-speak: ‘Uber for weed’ (outside of Silicon Valley, we’re guessing Eaze is the proverbial elephant in the room). …So, PERFECT! We love mixing business geek, entertainment, and awkward moments.

Let’s dig right into Eaze’s competitive analyses on Owler. First you’ll see Eaze’s top competitors as chosen by the Owler Community:

Owler Consensus Competitors

If you disagree or want to see another competitor in there, click on the ‘My Custom Set’ tab and add your own companies:

Follow Eaze | Meadow | Nugg | Nestdrop | Dave on Owler.

If others agree with you, your (anonymous) input may sway the Owler Consensus. In the meantime, magic happens below with each company you add.

(Hint: Change the ranking of competitors in a set by clicking and dragging the left toggle bars.)

Each competitive data set is pretty self-explanatory but we’ve included a few highlights below:

Compare CEO rankings:
(and vote on them yourself — all anonymously)

…the funding they’ve raised:

…or their estimated number of employees:

(Hint: Click the ‘Owler Consensus’ tab at top to see the competitive data the Owler Community sees.)

So how does this help you?

Picture this: the data sets include your company/your employer/your competitor/your investment/your client/your prospect/your weed sherpa… wait, what? Nothing. These data sets are invaluable!

Better yet, once you select your employer and competitors, we’ll email you reports so that you don’t have to hunt for them. If you hunted for them in the past, you’ve come to the right place; we’re about to save you a LOT of time. If you didn’t… you really should have. Time to sign up, young grasshopper.

Any questions about our new Competitive Analyses section or about Owler in general? Post a comment below.
