How do I edit the data on a company profile?
Editing data on Owler is really easy: simply click on the “Update this Profile” button on the top of any company profile. Doing so will pop-up a window that enables you to alter almost any bit of content on the profile. If you want to change the industry/sector, you’ll have to email us at email@example.com right now.
Make sure you are logged in. Only verified members of the Owler community will be able to make these edits.
What if I don’t agree with the competitors listed in a company’s competitor set?
You’re welcome to edit the competitors listed on a company profile. You can do so by either clicking “Update this Profile” button or by hitting the See All > link above the competitive set. If you just want to add one that we might not have, just enter it in the box below the set.
PRO TIP! When you edit the ‘My Custom Set’ of competitors, you are also editing the content of one of our popular emails, the Weekly Showdown, which pits your employer against who you think are your top three competitors. Add or rearrange your top three competitors to make this email much more valuable for you. You can rearrange by using those handles on the left hand side of each row.
What do I do if the data on a profile is incorrect?
Easy. First, makes sure you are logged in/registered. Two, go to the company profile. Three, hit the “Update this Profile” button. Four, get busy. Please note that currently most editing is only available on desktops. Phones and tablets are not the most ideal way to go through this process so we’ve disabled it until we can bring you a better experience.
Alternatively, you may email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to send us your edits. Please describe the specific data points that are inaccurate and provide a source if you have it.
How do I request a company be added to the Owler database?
You know of a company that isn’t in our database? We’d love to add it to Owler. First, we recommend confirming that the company isn’t in our database by searching with the company URL. If you do not find what you’re looking for, then scroll to the bottom of the search page. You will see the text: ‘Don’t see the company you were looking for? Click here to add’. Click on the link. A grey window will pop up that asks you to input the company’s URL. Click submit to finish the request.
How do I unfollow a company?
If you wish to stop tracking a company then you should unfollow it by clicking on the yellow star in either of two places:
1. Through My Portfolio by going to the Menu > My Portfolio.
2. On that company’s profile page in the top center. You’ll see a filled in yellow star. Just click it to unfill it and unfollow the company.
How do I edit my personal/account profile?
If you want to update your personal information, go to Owler.com > Menu > My Account and there you go. You have three areas right now (shown on the left) that you can update, including your Communications Preferences, which allows you to customize which email products you wish to receive.
